Just outside the gates to the Upper old town surrounded by these walls. Note not much blue sky today so makes photos look dull.
Now behind the walls in Upper Old Quebec. Statue Place D'armes.
Chateau Frontenac Very old Hotel. Note below the board walk which runs high above the river. When walking along this you look down over the River Lawrence.
Climbed up the hill behind the upper Old Town on the way to Citadell de Quebec. A military Compound and also where the Governor General resides. This is looking back over the river.
We went inside the Citadelle de Quebec. Saw the men out doing marching practise.
Did a tour (just us two and the guide) Through the Governor Generals Home. This photo is taken on his balcony over looking the river. Below looking down over the side. Shows how high up from the river it is.
Taken from his balcony looking over across the guns to the upper old city.
The cable car we took down to the Lower Old City. As I was leaning forward taking the photo you can imagine where Pete was standing. Yes right at the back.
This is an old photo of a street called Du Petit-Champlain in the Lower Old Town and the photos below are the street today .What a pretty place very French and old. This is the original area of the old town Quebec.
These are some streets further through the area .
The cable car in the distance we caught from the Upper old Town. Really enjoyed our time walking for five hours all around these areas. More tired feet.
This is back on the lower level on our way back to our Hotel.
Got back to hotel .Had a coffee and put cold flannels over my feet and face.So hot after all our walking. Relaxed for a couple of hours then off again for a walk down Rue St-Joseph Est (which is a street down the side of our hotel) to have a look at the shops. Back to hotel to write Blog. Now off again to have dinner. All go what a wonderful city.
Later.......Back from dinner. Went to a Thai Rest. just across the road called Tai Express very nice. Went there last night, enjoyed it so much went back.
