Town lights at night.
Falls by night but really
too far away. Too tired by
now to walk down any closer.
Coats that we wore when we went behind the falls.
Horseshe Falls Canadian Falls looking behind
Horseshoe Falls
Wore blue coats when we went on The Maiden Of The Mist. Got soaked.
Horseshoe Falls The Canadian Falls
American Falls on the American side, but we took this looking over from Canadian side.
The Fun Street on Clifton Hill at the Falls. A bit of a wacky town more for teenagers, but still fun.
Not sure if this is for Big Adam or Little Adam.
Pete talking to local Fisherman. He was amazed that we found this local spot. PT saw sign boat ramp and we were off.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Township 10 miles down river from the Falls. Very nice place
This is what I mean by all the properties flowing like a park, no fences.
Looking behind Falls.
American Falls on left and Canadian Falls on right.
The boat we went on passing the American Falls.
What an enjoyable day.
Two nights here at the Falls. We are staying in an area called Clifton Hills. Known as the Street of Fun at the Falls. More for the teenagers but we still enjoyed walking around .It was down to about 14 deg. this morning when we stepped outside, cool wind which we haven’t been used to, but warmed up in the afternoon. No humidity like we had at NY.
Before doing the falls we decided to drive out to a place called Niagara-on-the-Lakes about 10 miles down the river from where we are. (I will probably talk in miles as that is what reads on our car from US, although we are now in Km in Canada.) What a beautiful area, lush green parks, really big flash houses built to look like they are in a park like setting. By having no fences between them just having all their front lawns all running along the street as one with their lovely mature trees with their new spring growth.
When we had just about arrived at this place we weren’t sure if we had reached the right town so put the name into the GPS to see how far to go and she reply 300feet to destination, we had a laugh about that as we were there without realizing. It was a wine area and orchards . Must be a good growing area.. It is all along the river , down stream from the falls, and where the river comes out into lake Ontario. Loved the area. Ended up down on a jetty where a couple of guys were fly fishing so stood and talked fishing with them but no fish while we were there.
Drove back through a pretty area called the River side park.
Did the Journey Behind the Falls . Then the Maid of the Mist boat trip. Far preferred the Maid of the ist boat ride where we went right up river and the boat sat under the falls which gave you a really close up look. Were given plastic raincoats as you get quite wet. Quite exciting. Journey behind the falls wasn’t so good just walked through tunnels under the falls and had two portals where you could go up and stand behind the falls. Then stood out on a platform just beside the lower part of the falls.
Going back down tonight to see the falls lit up but have to wait until dark about 9.00pm.
